About Us
Our Mission
We want to help people enjoy the sun without the risk.
We think you shouldn’t have to choose between going outside and protecting your skin. With the right resources you can do both safely.Â
Our Why?
Our Founder
Â
Cael Sanderson
UVpal was created by Cael Sanderson, an electrical engineering student with a passion on taking complex data and turning it into something useful and meaningful.
We take multiple variables including UV indexes, skin differences, SPF percantages, and exposure risk, and create guidance anyone can use.
But UVPal is also personal.

After seeing a close family member find out they have skin cancer from a cancerous mole caused by years of sun damage, the importance of sun safety became very real for us. Thankfully, he is now in remission, but staying safe in the sun has become his number one priority.

That experience shaped the purpose behind UVpal. Instead of telling people to completely avoid the sun, we help people enjoy being outside while reducing long-term risk.
Our Journey
Starting as an engineering-driven school project, UVpal began by exploring how to take raw UV data and turn it into something actually useful for everyday people. Early use focused on combining UV index, skin type, and exposure time into a clear, easy-to-understand system.
Â
This quickly turned into a working concept, we want to close the gap between basic weather data and real, personalized advice.
Â
Today, we are focused on building a platform that not only helps users make better decisions, but also improves long-term awareness around skin health.
The Vision
Our vision is to create a tool that becomes part of people’s everyday lives, whether they’re going to the pool, on vacation, or just spending time outside.
Â
Looking ahead, we aim to:
-
Make personalized UV guidance a daily routine
-
Help reduce sunburns and long-term skin damage
-
Allow users to tan more efficiently and safely
-
Expand into deeper skin tracking and preventative data
Â
Ultimately, we want to do more than just tracking UV levels, we want to help people take control of their health while still enjoying the warmth of the sun.
